Apsiva PRINTsource brings speed
and efficiency to catalog publishing. Using PRINTsource, organizations
can streamline the workflow and centralize their content management
across print and web catalogs.
Multi-Channel
Capabilities: With Apsiva PRINTsource, you need
manage content only once. PRINTsource builds on top of ONEsource
Product Information Management software, and makes the same
content not only available to multiple catalog titles but
also to the web. This approach of managing content independent
of output eliminates dual maintenance and makes your web and
print catalogs more consistent. PRINTsource makes this possible
by taking a layered approach to build your Product Information
that goes into catalogs. This approach adapts to a wide variety
of catalog formats and media. With PRINTsource you can reduce
time-to-market and introduce products into catalogs at a faster
rate.
Product
Adoption: ONEsource makes it easy for you to bring
robust structure and organization with product management.
This capability ensures that your content is print catalog
ready and electronic commerce. With product management, you
can author copy, bullets and features for print and web.
Electronic
Turn-In: Buyers and Merchandisers can use Apsiva
PRINTsource to electronically assign products to pages. This
makes the turn-in process accurate, and efficient. It also
reduces the number of proofing cycles, since product managers
know before hand what content constitutes a page.
Digital
Asset Management: With PRINTsource you can centralize
and organize your images, artwork and documents in a central
database. Digital assets can be linked to copy and products,
and thus can be searched by keywords or descriptions making
them easy to find when you need them. Your digital assets
can be maintained from a browser and are directly integrated
into your desktop publishing environment (XPress or InDesign)
further reducing the time it takes to gather them when they
need to be included in a catalog, resulting in improved efficiency.
Copywriting:
PRINTsource provides editorial tools for copywriters and includes
them in the catalog process, to further streamline the process.
The tools include special character handling, spell checking,
word count checking and instantaneous digital preview of the
product. This capability combined with an optimal structure
makes copywriting a once-off step across all catalogs and
channels, improving content reuse across channels, which often
results in timesaving.
Page Assembly
& Design: PRINTsource integrates directly with
Quark XPress and Adobe InDesign to deliver print ready, pre-styled
content to the designers. PRINTsource eliminates the 'hunt
and gather' aspect of design. The system assembles item data,
product copy, features, images and delivers them in to the
designer. This dramatically increases the efficiency of page
design. Most pages take minutes to create. Designers can choose
to take a template-based approach where applicable. Content
on these designed pages is directly integrated back into the
database, paving the way for refreshing the catalog for pricing,
descriptions and images when necessary. These features improve
productivity for designers.
Proofing:
Apsiva PRINTsource fully integrates proofs for spreads or
sections of a catalog. With Apsiva you can create and upload
proofs in less time. Apsiva PRINTsource employs validation
features and digital whiteboards, early in the process, so
the number of proofing cycles can be reduced.
On Demand
Catalogs: On Demand Catalogs fall in between web
catalogs and print catalogs. They are system generated PDF
catalogs based on templates created by marketing. With these
catalogs, sales reps and customer service reps can create
custom catalogs without everyday reliance on marketing. On
Demand Catalogs can be created from a browser, making them
easy to support. This requires an add-on module.
Reporting
& Measurement: Apsiva ONEsource comes with
several reports out of the box. Some reports include: Item
Variance Reports, Category Variance Reports, Cross-Reference
Reports, Item Details Reports, etc. You can further enhance
reporting during implementation to measure your workflows
and product content.
Import/Export:
With Import features you can import content from your existing
content repositories. A variety of import tools are provided
to import descriptions, item data, and pricing. You can also
export product information in a variety of electronic forms.
Content
Liberation Tool: PRINTsource content liberation
tool makes it easy to populate the database from your current
publishing software documents. The liberation tool systematically
takes copy, images and item data from the document and re-links
them in the database, paving the way for efficient design.
Once the data is loaded in the database, it is immediately
available for print and web publishing.
Data Integration:
With the data integration module your print catalogs can be
fully integrated with your ERP system. Descriptions, pricing,
and a variety of other operational and item related information
can be seamlessly updated. PRINTsource can also be used as
a syndication engine for your website or other electronic
catalogs.
Open Architecture:
PRINTsource is built from ground up to keep data openly accessible
for other systems and for the IS personnel. There are no proprietary
technologies employed. The entire system runs on any operating
system, across networks, over the Internet, across all major
databases, and uses any available application server. The
system requires minimal support since there is no desktop
support involved - PRINTsource is a browser-based solution.
