Catalogers,
Retailers and Distributors are challenged with creating catalogs
and introducing new products to customers at a faster rate
than ever before. Not only is the number of channels increasing,
but the complexity of managing catalog content becomes exponentially
difficult with each new channel. But within these challenges,
lies the opportunity of gaining new customers, increasing
revenues and reducing costs.
An integrated catalog management
system can solve the above-mentioned problems and provide
many other benefits. Some benefits are obvious and some require
thought. In this report, we take a systematic approach and
analyze systems, business processes and departments that organizations
currently have in place.
From a systems view, we looked
at how silos of product information impact consistency of
brand and content in catalogs. From a business process standpoint,
we looked at the various product information related processes
and analyzed how companies can bring new products faster than
ever before to market, and how streamlined processes contribute.
From a departmental standpoint we looked at the various mechanisms
of employee interaction with customers and suppliers.
We took these findings and have
articulated a clear path, which shows how a catalog management
system will solve a problem, or leverage an opportunity. We
have made it easy for you to look at different areas to begin
to quantify the benefits of a catalog management system for
your organization.
